Hamilton House: Urban Mixed Use Redevelopment
An existing 1950's nondescript 3 storey warehouse building was given a major makeover - 2 steel framed storeys were added giving 2500m² and sufficient parking created using two of the existing levels with an exciting retail component was introduced to the street edges.
The introduction of the triple storey skylit atrium element (which is partly outdoor) connects the deep space office element with the strong views towards the Waterfront and introduces an element of spatial excitement and an activity focus as well as serving as a functional hub for vertical movement by the busy Ad Agency (Network/BBDO) for whom the premises were custom designed (In association with Metropolis). This building successfully 'kickstarted' the redevelopment of this entire city precinct.
